SANTASHA HART HILTON
I am a licensed architect focused on designing modern single-family residential homes for first time home buyers that prioritizes flexibility and adaptability, all while maintaining style, comfort, and quality.
2016
Santasha graduated with a masters in Architecture from Florida International University in 2016 and began practicing architecture in the mixed use, high rise residential, and large scale mixed use and multifamily residential sectors. She has gained over 8 years of experience in the field of architecture by working at esteemed firms such as Stantec, Humphreys & Partners Architects, and currently GFF Inc.
2018 - 2019
She obtained her license in 2018 and became one of the few black women registered as a licensed architect in the US. Santasha is an architect currently licensed in the state of Florida, California, and Texas.
2021
As the home affordability crisis heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic, Santasha initiated the construction of the first BLAQ House - her innovative solution to the rising cost of homeownership.
In that same year, Santasha got engaged and married to her husband in the fall of 2021.
2020
In 2020 she moved from Miami to Dallas to begin her journey in real-estate by obtaining her very own property. She also launched Design With Hart LLC & Live with Hart LLC.After searching for over a year for a home, Santasha pivoted from attempting to purchase an already built house to going the new construction route.
2022
The first BLAQ House, a signature Design With Hart home design, was completed in 2022 and is currently rented out throughout the year.

2023
Currently Santasha is in the process of designing more BLAQ House typologies to build across the DFW metroplex. You can follow her journey as she shares the behind the scenes of all of her new projects as well as helpful insights on small scale residential new construction along the way.

Back in 2020, as a first-time homebuyer, I faced the same challenges that many people do - finding a home that's not just comfortable but also affordable. It was this very struggle that led me to create the BLAQ House, a unique single-family residential home design that provides an ideal solution for those looking to balance comfortable living with the potential for additional income. I essentially designed the perfect single-family home for house hacking.
The BLAQ House is not just a house; it's a concept designed to provide homeowners with the opportunity to live comfortably while also renting out part of their space without compromising privacy, comfort, or affordability. Since building my very own BLAQ House in 2021, my husband and I have generated a minimum of $1000 a month consecutively by simply renting out the downstairs master bedroom while we enjoy living upstairs. This extra income has not only eased the burden of our mortgage payments but also provided us with the financial flexibility we craved, all within our primary residence.
